Description

Rare Mid Century Figurine, Signed by C. Mollica, Made In Italy, It measures 9 1/2 inches tall and the oval base is 5 1/2 x 3 1/2“. Adorable Chubby Cheeked Boy Child Holding a bundle of greens as a goose nibbles at them. I have never found another like exactly this one . Marked "Made In Italy" signed C Mollica Carlo Mollica is the descendant of this family line and heir to Mollica Ceramiche, situated at Capodimonte: his work in the traditional 19th century statuary style spans the period from the 20's and 30's and onwards after WWII. He exhibited at the Fiera di Milano in 1938. During the war he moved to Milan and in the 50's returned to Naples Please look at last four pictures for the age related issues. There are a few light chips. The tip of each wing has a slight chip. There is a light place where it looks like the paint is missing on one of the leaves he is holding in his hand. Please view all photos photos carefully as they are part of the description. I would not say it is in excellent unmarked condition but is certainly still a beautiful display. I have carefully inspected it and it is an overall good condition for being such an old piece. He is very old and still adorable.
