    Description

The item for sale here is a used Sound Devices 664 Field Production Mixer with Integrated Recorder. Included in the sale are the 664, a third-party power supply, four XL-1A 2’ TA3 cables, four XL-1B 1’ TA3 cables, and two used/reformatted discs (one 128 GB SD card and one 128 GB CompactFlash). This unit was purchased used in 2014. We used it primarily for classical music recording. It has been stored in an air conditioned studio when not in use. The serial number is
    KA0513049003
    .
The 664 appears to be in excellent working condition, and the preamps sound great. I was unable to test everything, but all of the following are working fine: mic inputs (with and without phantom power), basic mixer functions on all six channels (gain, fader knob, pan, and filter), test tone, balanced outs (XLR and TA3), digital out (tested on AES-A), headphone out, direct outs, and basic record/playback functions. I used the 664 to reformat the included digital media, and I reset the unit to factory defaults before packing. I have no reason to believe there are problems with any of the untested features.
The third-party power supply is fully functional, but the rubber stress relief on the cable has separated from the power supply body (as you can see in picture #8).
Cosmetically it shows a few signs of use (minor scratches and smudges), but it generally looks very good. If you have never dealt with Sound Devices, they offer excellent support for their products. Details about the 664, including a PDF manual, can be found at the Sound Devices website under Legacy Products.
